MCCJ honors journalists who uphold MCCJ’s mission through their reporting by drawing attention to prejudice and discrimination, and highlighting individuals and communities that work towards building an inclusive society. The headliner award is presented at a breakfast each spring where the award recipient is celebrated by the community.
Past Headliner Awards have been bestowed on John Quiñones (2013), Leonard Pitts (2012), Walter Cronkite, Barbara Walters, and other journalists who are leaders in their profession.
