Race: Are We So Different?

MCCJ was proud to partner with the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science to bring this stimulating and informative exhibit to our community. Initiated by the American Anthropological Association and developed in partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota, Race: Are we so different? explored the impact of race as an economic, political, and cultural construct and dispelled the myth of race as a biologically determined phenomenon.
The exhibit looked at the science of human variation and examined the history and lived experiences of race in the United States. The traveling exhibition sought to promote a national dialogue about race by providing numerous entry points to discussion. Three versions of the exhibit were touring the country; the condensed version came to Miami.
